Number 4: "Home sweet apartment"

I am an official resident of Georgia. Hotlanta, GA. Well, Alpharetta actually, but other than those who live in the Atlanta area, it means nothing to the outsider. Just know that it is about 20 minutes north of the central city.

I signed the lease to an apartment today; kinda scary. I have never spent this much money on a place of residence (700/mo, which is remarkably cheap for this area), so signing a contract stating that should I opt out of my lease before it expires I owe someone a lot of cancellation fees. Fortunately this apartment is really nice.

Oh, you want to hear about the details, eh? Divulge...
  • 850+ sq/ft
  • Sunroom
  • Fireplace
  • All electric (Seriously, no gas? That alone makes this place worth it)
  • Hunter green accent wall
Now, if you are like me, you are wondering what an accent wall is. When I was talking to the managers of the complex and they were giving me options for amenities they raved on and on about the fact that this particular unit (B712) had an accent wall. They literally must have mentioned this fact 4 or 5 times is the span of 10 minutes. So then Mercedes (the woman, who had a New York accent strangely enough, dedicated to finding me the best deal) takes me for a tour of the unit, and I've totally built up in my mind that there is this awesome wall that people are willing to pay extra money for, and then she shows me the wall in which she is all too excited about, and it turns out to be...

A green wall.

Ah, so that is what an accent wall is. While all the other walls are painted white, this one is painted hunter green. Huh. So she excitedly asks me, "Isn't that great?", to which I respond as sincerely as I can," Uh, yeah, that's real nice."

So if you come to visit me, which I strongly advise, I will show you my green wall and bare floors and empty bedrooms.

Tell ya what, I'll take pictures and post them and then you don't have to try and imagine, thus further pulling you away from your precious childhood.
